As the weekend went on, I thought more and more about the article I posted about how fans are a head-on factor for sports!
This weekend was a heavy weekend at my work, Glory Days Grill, due to our amount of tv to show the games. Saturday evening, we were packed an hour early due to round 2 of the NHL playoff for the Washington Capitals. I over heard many fan talking about how they are so proud of the intensity and aggressiveness of play; they also mentioned how the are buying new shirts and jersey to support their players. We also got a good crowd for the Washington Nationals. Many custimers who appear talked non-stop about the pitching roation(recently named the best in the league, at the moment) and our win strdeak and first place divison holder.
This shows that fan, whether at the game or not, can be a running drive for fans and the love of the game.

nba, nfl strikes
For my research paper, I have had such a hard time finding out information about the football and basketball strike due to their recent apperance.
However, I found two sites that seemed pretty credible to me.
http://espn.go.com/nfl/topics/_/page/nfl-labor-negotiations
&
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011_NBA_lockout
They state reasons why the lockout appeared, what happened behind the scences, and the aftermath!

Game time!
With the past reading and classes about our new assignment of playing video games, I reliezed here is another way for teams, players, and leagues to make money. We have games, created by EA(mainly) that uses many people's favorite palyers to be the stars in the game. We have games such as Madde, FIFA, and NHL 12.

Speaking of fans..
SPORTS RECAP FROM THIS WEEK (: ;
March Madness just ended! Kentucky won for the boys and the Baylor women's team wenwt undeafeated throughout the entire season!
Last night, my Washington Capitals finally advanced to the playoff with a huge group of worried fans supporting them inside and out.
Lastly, this week has been the start of the baseball season, which meaning summer is coming upon us fast. My Boston Red Sox lost their first game, but my Washington Nationals won.

Fans Needed (:
I found an article showing and explaining why us, as fans, are so important to the teams we follow.
We buy our favorite teams and players merchandise to either show our love for them or our respect. We buy tickets to view the game or event because we love the atmosphere at the game and want to see our team win and play well. Also, we hope to give our players and teams confidence to play and the drive to win.
Most importantly, we provide the team, player, coach, and franchise with their money!

NHL Lockout; bad hockey night
This is an article I found on the NHL lockout in the early 2000s.
Agreement ends NHL Lockout
It sums up what they did to correct it
-Salary caps
-New contracts for the 05 season
-New rules for the free agency
-Chance to play in the Winter Olympics.
This brought on a hefty change within the rules and world of hockey.
With help of the lockout, my hockey team, the Washington Capitals, gained the "Great 8," Alexander Ovechkin.
Lately, the Capitals shou0ld be known as the Crapitals losing 5-1 tonight to the Sabres..

Doesn't relate, but I love this video.
I'm a huge Red Sox fan and this video always makes me laugh and be proud of my team.
